SAN Group Biotech Germany GmbH (formerly AniCon Labor GmbH) combines various solutions in the field of animal health. In addition to a laboratory for veterinary diagnostics (known under the brand ANICON®) and for feed and food safety (LM-TECH), SAN Group Biotech Germany GmbH is also a manufacturer of veterinary diagnostics (KYLT®) and livestock-specific vaccines for farm animals (ANIVAC®). SAN Group Biotech Germany GmbH is one of the leading suppliers on the European market and is recognized worldwide with a modern laboratory center for poultry, pigs, cattle, sheep, goats and fish. In addition to pathology, the diagnostic portfolio also includes cultural bacteriology and virology, serology and a very broad spectrum of state-of-the-art molecular diagnostic procedures. Since 2014, the company has been offering in-vitro diagnostics that are marketed worldwide as PCR kits under its own brand KYLT®. A PIM, MAM and cross-media solution was implemented for SAN Group Biotech Germany GmbH (formerly AniCon Labor GmbH) on the basis of the crossbase.pim standard software.
Items with master data are continuously imported via a standard interface to the Navision ERP system. The master data also contains classification data from Navision so that newly imported items can be automatically classified into the product structure in crossbase.
In addition, product relationships are transferred from Navision (e.g. the reagents contained in the item) and in some cases additionally maintained (e.g. the product relationships).
Further technical features are maintained in the PIM for the products. The inheritance concept is used for this, whereby features that are maintained on the product are automatically "inherited" by all item variants. This mainly concerns features for medical classification such as sample types, affected organs or disease/pathogen names with synonyms.
The media elements (including photos, symbols, documents and videos) are managed in the integrated MAM on a product or publication-specific basis. Images are automatically converted for print and the Internet (jpg, webp, svg etc.).
Due to their nature, the texts are very extensive. They include product description, mode of operation, application note, storage condition, equipment, evaluation note, test result and more. These are recorded as continuous text or text modules. The KYLT® division has built up an extensive text library with text modules, as many texts can be reused frequently. These text modules can be linked to form list texts for specific products and languages (text generation). The features on the products are also used for this purpose. This results in a significant reduction in text maintenance and translation, as all products can be described with just a few hundred text modules and their translations.
In order to be able to use products in print catalogs and online media in all countries, marketing-specific product views and assortments are maintained for the respective sales channels. The documents, such as the manual, are database-supported and automatically created using the crossbase print engine and Adobe InDesign. The data for the website is made available via the REST API.
Several people from marketing, product management and IT are involved in the process via an authorization system.
