KEMPER and crossbase:
The perfect complement

KEMPER uses crossbase as an individualized PIM, MAM and cross-media solution.

With the crossbase software solution, all product information is maintained centrally in one place. This simplifies the production processes for the media to be created and ensures that the data source is always up-to-date.

KEMPER is an independent, autonomous and traditional family business that has developed into a modern brand with an international reputation since its foundation in 1864. KEMPER is one of the world's leading manufacturers of valves and system technology for technical building services. Throughout Europe, specialist wholesalers, planners, plumbers and building owners rely on KEMPER brand fittings made of gunmetal and stainless steel. Several subsidiaries support worldwide sales (USA, Switzerland, Ireland, Shanghai, Singapore).

Based on the standard software crossbase, a PIM, MAM and cross-media solution was implemented for KEMPER that was adapted to the individual requirements.

The starting point is the data interface to the ERP system. All sales items are imported via this connection. The products are then enriched with additional features, product relationships, images, documents and texts via the inheritance concept and mapped in the various market- and media-specific product views. These include, for example, the online catalog, the price list and the product catalogs. Product texts and tender texts for electronic catalogs for Datanorm, SHK-Branchenportal (ARGE Neue Medien), ausschreiben.de (GAEB) and VDI 3805 WebSelektor as well as for data provision in the download area of the KEMPER website are automatically generated in multiple languages using text templates.

The predefined text templates describe how the structured texts are composed of the individually created text modules in the document module structure. In this way, texts are generated for product groups (figures) as well as for articles. The media-neutral RGB workflow (intermediate binding) is used for fully automated print production. The print data for b/w printing and the download PDF documents with hyperlinks and PDF bookmarks are generated from the InDesign documents produced.
