Böblingen, 05-04-2020: Schöck Bauteile GmbH, a company of the Schöck Group, is a leading supplier of reliable solutions in thermal and acoustic insulation. With its products and services, the company sets international standards with approximately 1,000 employees in the various companies in Europe, Russia and North America.
For several years, Schöck has been using crossbase as a PIM, MAM and cross-media solution. Schöck is also represented on the online platform ausschreiben.de, which was previously maintained manually. In order to automate this sales channel as well, the solution was extended by an additional data interface. The electronic data exchange format GAEB-XML, which is widely used in the building industry, is used for this purpose.
On the online platform ausschreiben.de manufacturers from all trades of the construction industry can publish tender texts for free download. The portal is a contact point in the building industry for all partners involved, e.g. architects, to obtain planning data in various output formats such as GAEB XML, GAEB 90, PDF, DOC, RTF, text, DATANORM 5 and ÖNORM. Almost all considerable AVA and craftsman programs can process these output formats and/or have an interface to ausschreiben.de.
For the platform, a separate external view of the product data in crossbase was created, which is displayed on ausschreiben.de. Thus, the approx. 14,500 items from nine product areas can be displayed with adapted descriptions and texts.
Schöck uses the platform to distribute tender texts and product images. Since invitations to tender have a very structured structure and text components are repeated, text templates were created in the PIM to generate these texts in several languages. This process can also be transferred to platforms in other countries.
Attribute values such as length, width, weight etc. can be automatically inserted into the texts via text variables. This enables the use of only one text for a large number of product variants. On the one hand, this reduces the manual effort by over 90%, since only the text modules are assigned to the products. On the other hand, the quality of the texts is improved, as they are structured in a uniform and consistent manner.
Due to the flexibly configurable structures for XML formats, crossbase is able to map them easily and quickly. Each format can be flexibly configured by the user in terms of content via XML mapping.
The data for ausschreiben.de are provided e.g. via the standard format GAEB DA XML. The bill of quantities including image and text data is exported. In addition, further information which is not provided by the standard format GAEB DA XML (e.g. comments and attachments as well as links) will be transported via a further ausschreiben.de specific XML format.
